The MLB playoffs will begin next season, with the last game of the regular season on Sunday, September 29, 2019.
With the playoffs only a couple weeks away, here’s a look at the games that are set to be broadcast live and which MLB teams will be hosting them.
The ALDS The New York Yankees and Washington Nationals are set for their final game of this series at Yankee Stadium.
In what has become a recurring theme, the two teams will meet again in the ALDS on Sunday night.
With the two playoff series being played in the same city, it’s difficult to say which team will be playing at Yankee, but with the Yankees leading the series 3-2 heading into the final game, it could be a rematch.
Nats The Washington Nationals will be the first to play the Atlanta Braves in the final regular season game of their season in a baseball stadium in Atlanta, GA.
The Braves are the first team to win their last two games in Atlanta since they were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series in 2016.
While the Braves are a longshot to make the playoffs, it is possible that they will be a playoff team if they lose to the Nationals.
Bats With a 3-0 lead over the Philadelphia Phillies, the Boston Red Sox are set in the second game of a doubleheader.
Despite the fact that the Red Sox were swept in the first game of that doubleheader, they still had the best record in the majors heading into that game.
Red Sox With all the excitement that’s been building for the upcoming season, the Red Wings have yet to have a team play a single game in a stadium in Detroit.
That’s not the case, as the Red Stars are set with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the last two meetings.
Wings The Chicago Blackhawks are set at the beginning of the season with the team already scheduled to play in a home game at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
However, the Blackhawks have not played a game in Chicago since October 25, 2018.
Blue Jackets The Columbus Blue Jackets will play their first game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH.
Since the team moved to Columbus, they’ve only played a handful of games in Columbus.
Columbus The Blue Jackets are set as the third seed in the Eastern Conference after their 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals.
As the Eastern conference champions, the Blue Jackets have a lot of pressure on them to win this series.
Both teams have been able to pull off a series win in the past.
But while the Blackhawks were able to win a Game 7 against the Capitals, the Capitals were able forgo a Game 8 in order to play three games in a row in a single day.
A lot of attention will be on how well the Blue Jays and Yankees can handle each other on Sunday.
Yankees The Toronto Blue Jays have had their best season in franchise history.
They finished the regular seasons with a 108-72 record and won the AL East for the second time in four years.
Their team is led by Jose Bautista, who has put up a career high in home runs and slugging percentage.
While Bautette is the team’s MVP, he will not be able to lead the team to another title.
Boston Red Sox The Boston Red Wings are set ahead of schedule as they will begin the season at Fenway Park.
After winning their first two games at Fenrow, the Toronto Blue Sox will face the Boston Bruins in their first home game of 2018.
Bruins The Bruins are set up with the New York Rangers in the next two games of their series.
The Bruins will have a 1-0 advantage heading into Game 2, and will need to win Game 3 to take the series.
